About Arrowmark

Arrowmark's Jo Weir is a third-generation Queenstowner whose grandparents Ian and Joan Hamilton were tourism pioneers.

Skyline's newly-opened mountain biking trail is named 'Hammy's Run' after Jo's grandfather, who helped build the first road up to Bob's Peak, a facility now known as The Skyline.

On their days off from developing one of Queenstown's tourism icons, Ian and Joan farmed in the now residential area surrounding Hamilton Road and built a tour company bringing groups of visitors to Milford Sound and Skippers Canyon.

joanieJoanie, known as the "Queen of Skippers", was renowned for her short skirts, blonde beehive hairdo and bare feet.

She was passionate about the stunning landscapes of the Southern Lakes district as she entertained passengers on her fleet of Volkswagen and Mercedes buses, guiding them safely along the precarious roads (that had grown men sweating with fear) to Skippers and Milford.

Joanie's love for the district's beauty was passed on to her grand-daughter Jo, who has spent the last fifteen years promoting the attributes of Queenstown and its environs.

stonehouseAs owner of one of Queenstown's oldest buildings, the Daniel residence, built in 1874, Jo and her husband Steve hosted hundreds of discerning visitors from throughout New Zealand and the world.

Now based in the historic village of Arrowtown, Jo's had a background that has spanned advertising, politics, event management, marketing, graphic design and hospitality.

She spent seven years as Private Secretary to New Zealand's Prime Minister Jim Bolger and when Bill Clinton visited Queenstown, Jo was there to welcome him and support his White House team, coordinating a visit that resulted in some of New Zealand's best international publicity.

Jo's provided marketing and graphic design services for various companies in the areas of adventure tourism, interior design, food and beverage, trade and hospitality.

Specialising in the Southern Lakes' tourism industry, Arrowmark has the experience and expertise to provide marketing strategies, graphic design and sales representation to businesses in all industries.

You could think of Arrowmark as your own personal, on-call Department of Sales and Marketing. But without the wage overhead.

We're looking forward to your call.
